House Manager| Bridgehampton Location: Bridgehampton, NY
Compensation: Up to $250,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-time, live-out; significant seasonal flexibility required MAY be open to relocation for the right person A UHNW family is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly service-oriented House Manager to oversee their Bridgehampton residence and support the broader operation of multiple family dwellings. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who truly understands the rhythm of a seasonal luxury residence. Summers are extremely active and fast-paced, with long days, frequent guests, entertaining, last-minute changes, and evolving family needs. Winters are considerably quieter, but equally important — focused on maintenance, projects, systems, preventative care, organization, and preparing the residence for the season ahead. The ideal candidate has managed large-scale private residences for a sophisticated family and possesses genuine hospitality DNA. This person understands that exceptional service is often about the details that are never noticed: anticipating needs, reading a room, knowing when to step in and when to step back, and ensuring that the home is always beautifully prepared and guest-ready. We strongly prefer candidates who are local to the Hamptons or have significant experience living and working in a seasonal community and understand its unique demands year-round. Schedule & Seasonality Candidates must understand and embrace the seasonal nature of the position. Summer is intense, and days can regularly extend to 12–14 hours depending on family occupancy, guests, entertaining, and household needs. Flexibility during peak season is essential. Winter is considerably quieter, generally closer to a traditional eight-hour workday, but remains an important period for maintenance, projects, preventative care, systems management, SOPs, and preparing the residence for the coming season. This is a live-out position and best suited to someone who genuinely understands the Hamptons lifestyle and wants to become a trusted, long-term steward of the family’s home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operation and presentation of the Bridgehampton residence and assist with coordination across multiple family dwellings. Maintain an exceptional level of hospitality, service, and readiness for the principals, family members, and guests. Anticipate needs and respond calmly and effectively to last-minute requests, schedule changes, guests, and shifting priorities. Manage and coordinate household staff, ensuring everyone understands expectations, service standards, and responsibilities. Oversee vendors, contractors, repairs, maintenance, and ongoing property projects. Develop and maintain strong relationships with trusted local vendors and service providers throughout the Hamptons. Possess a strong working knowledge of residential systems, preventative maintenance, and the ongoing needs of a significant luxury property. Create, implement, and maintain SOPs, household manuals, maintenance schedules, inventories, and seasonal checklists. Prepare the residence for each season, ensuring the property is consistently maintained and always guest-ready. Coordinate seasonal openings and closings, preventative maintenance, deep cleaning, projects, landscaping, and other property needs. Support entertaining and guest stays with a polished, discreet, service-first approach. Work collaboratively with family members, guests, staff, vendors, and other members of the family’s broader team.
